We are members of the NZ MVCC - this page will list information about the club in Canterbury and the South Island.

The New Zealand Military Vehicle Collectors Club (NZ MVCC) is a non profit organisation that was founded in 1979. It is part of a worldwide following and our membership includes people from all over New Zealand as well as some international members. The MVCC brings together enthusiasts and collectors together that are interested in the acquisition, restoration, preservation and safe operation of Heritage Military Vehicles. We are a family oriented group who welcome and encourage participation, in a non-competitive environment. You do not have to own a military vehicle to join the club - having an interest in them is just as important.

Those interested in joining the NZ MVCC should make contact with their local area representive - for the Canterbury region this is Jonathan of Tanks For Everything - click for contact details. The area rep can let you know when a local meeting is taking place for you to go along to and meet the club members in your area. The area rep can also supply you with a membership form for you to fill out.

Within the Canterbury region we do not have a regular monthly meeting but do get together at various shows throughout the season. Members of the Canterbury branch of the NZ MVCC are invited to take vehicles to the following events:

April 15th-18th 2010 – World Ploughing Championship, Methven. Military vehicle display and mock battles on Thursday and Sunday

Sat 27th March 2010 11am-4pm - Tours and Rides day at the Tanks For Everything site, Mcleans Island

Weds 11th, Thurs 12th, Fri 13th Nov 2009 - Christchurch Royal A&P Show - A huge show, masses to see and with a NZMVCC exhibitor space for a green machine display.

Sun 8th November 2009 11am-4pm - Tours and Rides day at the Tanks For Everything site Mcleans Island Road - Tours, rides, guest vehicles, tanks in action and Tank Car Crushing.

Sun 25th & Mon 26th Oct 2009 Labour Weekend - Conflict & Peace themed weekend at Ferrymead Heritage Park, Ferrymead, Christchurch - again a request from the organisers for a military vehicle display by the club.

Sat 24th October 2009 - Rangiora A&P Show - at Rangiora show grounds - this is usually a good, fun event with lots of green machines and a grand parade as a finale

Sat 10th & Sun 11th October 2009 - Swap Meet at the Vintage Car Club Mcleans Island Road - Heaps to look at, many club and marque displays and lots (and lots and lots) of autojumble!

Sat 26th & Sun 27th Sept 2009 - Waipara Vintage Festival, Waipara, North Canterbury - lots of interesting items on show and a request from the organisers for a military vehicle display by the club.

Sun 2nd August 2009 11am-4pm - Tours and Rides day at the Tanks For Everything site Mcleans Island Road.

Sat 4th / Sun 5th April 9am-4pm - Ellesmere Country Fair and Vintage Rally - at Leeston A&P Grounds

Sun 19th April 2009 11am-4pm - Tours and Rides day at the Tanks For Everything site Mcleans Island Road - a busy but enjoyable day with the bigs tanks in action pretty much the whole time.

Sat 28th / Sun 29th March 2009 10am-4pm - Mcleans Island Vintage Country Fair - a very good turn out of over 25 military vehicles, lots of interest, great weather and vehicle parades = a very enjoyable weekend

Sat 24th / Sun 25th January 2009 - Tours and Rides days at the Tanks For Everything site Mcleans Island Road

Sat 25th October 2008 - Rangiora A&P Show - at Rangiora show grounds - a great day with lovely weather despite the predictions and loads of interest in the vehicles especially the Abbot - photos added

Sat 18th / Sun 19th October 2008 - Tours and Rides days at the Tanks For Everything site Mcleans Island Road - debut for the newly imported Abbot and a couple of guest LR's (101 and another Skippy) in attendance - photos added
